For a replacement jacket water cooler or oil cooler, the fastest route is a photograph of the nameplate on the unit that failed, plus the engine model and rating. A part number such as HC-1024-CN-BR-Z or B-702-A4-F-BR-CN-B-Z tells us the frame, the pass arrangement and the material set in one string, and we confirm the replacement or the current equivalent.

If the plate is gone, measure the shell diameter, the shell length, the overall length end to end, and the size and position of the seawater and coolant connections, then note which way the bonnets face. We will tell you what else to look for.

For a new selection we need the duty: engine model and rating or the heat load, both fluids with flow rates, seawater inlet temperature on the hottest day you run, the jacket water or oil temperatures in and out, and the pressure drop you can spare on each side.
